The title is a philosophical view point of a farmer facing
dry after dry. The saying can apply to life in general.
I think that things do turn around for the better if we
concentrate on what is important to us.

the old boys used to say this area won’t break any
records
but it’ll never let you down
but these days you never can tell
one thing’s for sure, it always rains, after a dry spell
as the grey clouds roll over the hill
as the wind picks up in the air a chill
yes I’m wondering will the heavens release
and give those on the land a little peace
some have taken jobs in town to make ends meet
and they work the farm on weekends with the kids
they’re happy making enough to pay what they owe
they didn’t need too much to preserve the seeds they’d
sowed
well some they fly in and out on a mine
and some watch their old and new lives decline
it’s their way of life that takes the blow
you don’t need too much to preserve the seeds that
you sow
as the grey clouds roll over the hill
as the wind picks up in the air a chill
